We at Sterling Shagya Sporthorses use Young Living Essentiall Oils for both ourselves and for the health of our horses. I am an Independent Distributor for Young Living. YL uses only the highest quality plants for their oils. There are no additives - all oils are 100% pure. Please fell free to contact me regarding any health concerns you may have regarding yourself or your horses (or any other animals). I have comprised a "Must have" list of essential oils for all horse owners:
Di-Gize blend - excellent for the treatment of colic! 2 of my horses colicked earlier this year. They received this oil within a short time and I never had a need to call out the vet. Within a few hours, they were looking better and searching for food.
Peppermint Oil - again, used for colic, but also great for taking along to shows and rides. Put a few drops in their water to encourage drinking. Helps hide the taste of "foreign" water if you use on a regular basis at home.
Thieves blend - Great all purpose anti-bacterial/anti-viral. I use this for Thrush and to clean out abscesses or wounds.
Melrose blend - A must have for lacerations/scrapes. Mix a few drops with Thieves to flush out wounds and help promote healing. A blend of 2 types of TeaTree, along with rosemary.
Copaiba Oil - I call this "advil in a bottle". This is an antiflammatory and I use for any lumps or bumps. This is also an excellent product for ulcers! Get Copaiba and get your horse off ulcer-gard!
Animal Scents Ointment - an all purpose ointment for helping to heal wounds. I cleanse the wound, apply the Melrose and Frankincense, then top off with this ointment.
A wonderful oil, though a bit pricey, is Frankincense - a very healing oil. Studies have shown this to be anti-carcinogenic and can help with melanomas.
And for the rider: Deep Relief blend for after those long training rides. Helps to soothe sore muscles.
All the above oils can also be used for humans.
