Sterling Shagyas is closing their breeding business. After several difficult years and with retirement approaching, we've decided closing is the best decision for us at this time. When we purchased *Karol du Cavallon last winter we did not know that he arrived with a seminal infection that, despite months of treatment, will continue to reoccur year after year. After speaking with multiple reproductive experts, we've decided to geld *Karol. We will be selling our younger broodmares. Sterling, of course, and the older broodmares will be staying with us. We've proudly bred well over a dozen purebred and part-bred Shagyas, winning multiple USDF Sport Horse in Hand year end awards along the way. Sterling Shagya Sporthorses is home to the ISG approved and performance tested Shagya-Arabian stallion Sterling Silver AF. Sterling Shagyas is a small, but dedicated Shagya-Arabian breeding farm, involved with Shagyas for over 30 years and breeding for over 15. We believe in breeding quality sporthorses that live up to the Shagya-Arabian history. We are also breeding a few select Trakehner foals. We strive to breed the best character, temperament, and movement into our horses following ISG regulations. All of our breeding stock is ISG Approved. We believe in breeding high percentage Shagya-Arabians and not diluting this precious breed with too much arabian blood. ISG recommends using arabian blood only once every 4 generations.
